Week 11: Media Sharing

First off, sorry for the late post this weekend. I'm still in Memphis at that conference I mentioned and the wifi situation has been dismal! Apologies.

So, this week we're focusing on one of the biggest 2.0 trends -- media sharing. As you probably know, media sharing refers to sites that facilitate sharing of various media, like images and video files. Media sharing, both as a trend, and as a technology, has the potential to have a big impact on libraries, so I'm eager to hear your thoughts on what libraries can do with the tools, as well as the issues libraries need to be aware of around media sharing. All content for this week is here.

A few reminders & notes for this week:

  • Final projects/papers are due in 3 1/2 weeks (midnight, Wednesday, April 15th). I hope you are all enjoying working on your papers/projects! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
  • Our chat this week is on Thursday, March 26th at 6pm. See you in the chat room.
  • This week we see the last of the Group Projects. Tara, Sarah, Heather, and Rob will be unveiling their prototype on media sharing tools on Friday morning, so keep an eye out for it!
  • You should be receiving course evaluations soon. Please take the time to complete the evaluation, I really appreciate your opinions and feedback. I try to do what I can to make changes to the course based on your experience and incorporate your suggestions where possible, so please send them in!

Have a great week, everyone.
