With week 12, we have "officially" finished looking at the actual tools of web 2.0, and we're moving on to reading/thinking about and discussing some of the issues around implementing these tools in libraries and information organizations. Many of you have already unearthed some of these issues over the past 11 weeks and discussed them in your blog posts. This week, I'd like you to take a step back and think about how you might market new 2.0 services and evaluate their effectiveness in an information organization. The readings for this week should get you started thinking about some of these issues.
A couple of reminders:
- The course chat this week is on Thursday, April 2 at 5 pm. I apologize for two back-to-back Thursday chats but I'm in DC this week, doing a number of presentations/workshops at a conference, and Thursday evening was the only time I could do.
- Speaking of which, I'm traveling again! I should have access to some decent wifi, but, just a heads-up, I might be a bit slower than usual responding to email messages. I will try to get to my inbox every evening at the very least.
- Final projects/papers are due in about 2 1/2 weeks (midnight, Wednesday, April 15th). I hope the research/writing/prototype-building is proceeding well for everyone. If you're having any trouble or need to touch base with me on your project, feel free to ping me anytime.
Happy week 12 and I look forward to reading your posts!
