On to week 8! This week we're taking a closer look at folksonomies, which builds directly on last week's conversations around Social Bookmarking & Tagging. This week we look at the advantages and limitations of folksonomies & distributed classification, paying particular attention to how these trends impact libraries and library services (such as OPACs). • Your final project proposals are due by midnight this coming Friday (March 6th). Many of you have already shared your proposals with me in Google Docs -- thank you & I'll be getting back to you with comments & marks soon. If you haven't yet sent yours in, check the syllabus for assignment and submission guidelines.
